Extension of Bridge San Isidro

The project was carried out by civil engineers M. Duran and S. Alvarado in 1992, and the work of widening the following year. The works included the placement of prefabricated concrete slabs made of reinforced concrete, supported by the filler and anchored together by longitudinal beams built under them. The slabs were flying on both sides of the bridge, and at the end of these flights the cornices and original parapets that had previously been dismantled were rearranged as they were originally set.

The sidewalks that were missing in this bridge of the old road to Castilla and that were so necessary could be built thanks to this extension; since the work was added to the urban weave of the town of Allariz. With this solution, the sight of the elevations in the original bridge is practically preserved. Thus, this together with its natural construction is a common solution to the widening of the platform of a masonry bridge.
