The bridge-wall of As Burgas bridge is located in the road from Ourense to Zamora, which was built at the end of the 19th century. It is practically a wall, since, in spite of being 180 m long, it has only three arches, two of which have a span of 5,00 m and the central arch has a span of 9,40 m. Hence its name, which figures in the construction project of "bridge-wall of Las Burgas".
It is located in the city centre, in the surroundings of the well-known hot springs of As Burgas. The walls are constructed of toasted brown granite ashlars straight and square cut.
In order to allow entrance to motor vehicles to the city, the City Council decided to accomplish the bridge extension in 1992, so we drafted a project in 1993. The project was commissioned by the Public Works Authority of the Government of Galicia (Dirección Xeral de Obras Públicas de la Xunta de Galicia).
