Restoration of the roman bridge Vella

It is a bridge of Roman origin, currently composed of 8 arcs, in different lights and shapes, with granite seating built and other nozzles of this material with lime mortar slate masonry.

It is a reflection of the many repair and reconstruction works carried out from very early times, which some historians date to the Swabian invasions in the sixth century. The Roman remains of the piles 1, 2 and 3 could be located through the construction of a collector in the bed of Miño, downstream of the bridge in 1995.

The oldest archs are the two closest to the right (A Ponte district) which the mason marks are seen and usually dated to the medieval period. The rest are later and very difficult to date.
